Whatever type of camping a person enjoys, there are a few must have accessories which many people will not leave home without. No matter how new an RV or how much it has cost, there are always some essentials which will need to be bought extra. We have put together a list of a few of the most popular RV camping accessories, designed to make the whole camping experience more comfortable and enjoyable.
Whenever the sun is out it means a readily available supply of energy, just so long as there is the right equipment to harness that power. Many people rely on keeping their gadgets charged at all times, particularly, the younger generation. This is why so many RVers make sure that they have a mini solar device charger available at all times. Why pay for electricity when there is so much of it available for free? Some RV drivers take things one step further and invest in a solar charging unit to free them from the confines of regular camp sites with hook-ups. This is an extremely liberating addition to RV camping accessories.
Cooking in the great outdoors is a major attraction when it comes to camping but it isn’t always safe or permitted to simply collect a few tree branches and light a fire. For this reason it’s always a good idea to have some sort of portable grilling unit handy which will make great use of even limited storage space for many campers. Some devices are so versatile they can be used for grilling, baking, roasting and smoking, frying and boiling and only need a few briquettes before they are up to temperature and ready for action.
Although some hard core old school campers are happy to set out in their RV armed with nothing more than a map and compass, the majority of people will agree that a GPS system is a real bonus. Make sure that the GPS is set for an RV friendly route, particularly if the vehicle is as large as a bus. RV GPS systems will find the most accessible route based on the weight and height restrictions of the RV.
Bicycles are often fastened to the rear of an RV and for very good reason. They are an extremely handy way of getting around once the RV is parked up, plumbed in and hooked up and great for exploring those hard to reach places which are too far away to walk or hike. They are also a good way of going to get help if an RV is disabled in any way.
Folding step stools are a cheap yet incredibly handy addition to any RV camping trip. Not only are they great for reaching those higher than average storage spaces but also come in very useful for washing the exterior of the RV and messing about with the awning.
These are just a few of the most popular accessories which experienced campers have discovered are well worth the extra money, weight and storage space. Of course, there are plenty more available and everybody will find their own particular favorite.
